Release Year: 2005 With Great Reviews!

REVIEW:
Revonda sings the lead vocals with a powerful heartfelt delivery that would fill a whole church. Her fiddle embellishes the lead offs on many songs and her 4 carefully crafted songs show a gift for storytelling combined with purpose. “Midnight Train to Memphis” is the gentle tale of a hope with Justin providing a fine accompanying guitar. “This Veil Upon My Face” is an admonition to the “river of death” to pass by. Revonda’s mother, Brenda Bowles, wrote “Little Cowboy’s Dream,” a tender tale of a dying child’s dream to ride the open range. The band’s instrumental work is top-rate, with Justin’s banjo and Lonnie’s mandolin showing crisp and succinct delivery.California Bluegrass Association - Read Here http://www.cbaontheweb.org/reviews_read2.asp?messageID=898&curPage=1&search=harvest+wind
Review:
Harvest Wind is an up and coming group from Statesville, North Carolina. Their first cd, Ridin' On The Southbound Train, was released on the Mastershield record label.  The Traveler showcases the vocals of Revonda Roberts, who serves up a dose of classic bluegrass vocals with a little helping of country twang. Revonda also shows songwriting skill in the three songs she composed for the cd, "The Daughter Of A Gamblin' Man" opens the cd and lets you know this gal knows how to lyrically write a good bluegrass song. "I'm Going Down To The Southland" is a foot stomping number heavy on guitar and dobro in which Robert's sings "my mama warned 'bout the devil, when I was barely knee high" and "take to heart the road you travel, cause you might leave here tonight". The album's title cut, "The Traveler" tells of a life's end from the view of the other side and includes some fine pickin' from all of the groups members.  Justin Bowles, just a teen during this recording, does an excellent job with the banjo and has an instrumental of his own here, "Breaking Of The Day" which rounds out the album. Justin shows skill beyond his years and plays flawlessly on the entire project.
Harvest Wind includes some bluegrass standards as well, Bill Monroe's "The Old Cross Road" and two songs from the public domain, "Little Black Train" and "Wayfaring Stranger."
Harvest Wind will be in the studio in early 2006 for a follow up to The Traveler.

Psalms 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
